Short Heath is in the Erdington ward in north-east Birmingham, five miles from the city centre. The surrounding areas are Boldmere, Erdington Town, New Oscott, Stockland Green and Wyrley Birch. Short Heath is named after heathland on the west side of Erdington Town which was developed for housing, mainly between 1880 and 1930. The area is characterised by older terraces and semi-detached pairs.
