Fox Hollies is an area of south-east Birmingham in the Acocks Green ward, roughly four miles from the city centre. The surrounding areas are Olton, Shirley, Tyseley, Hall Green and Acocks Green Village. Fox Hollies was farmed by the Holley family until 1649 and thereafter by the Fox family until 1869. The farm then became a country estate centred on Fox Hollies Hall, an Italianate mansion built in 1870. The hall was demolished in 1930 whereupon the council developed the surrounding land as the Gospel, Edenbridge and Pool Farm municipal housing estates. Bus Routes through Fox Hollies The following bus routes run through Fox Hollies: 11A/C, 31, 40 The Hollies The Hollies are a group of three 12 storey 36 metre tower blocks that were built in the early sixties at Pemberley Road on the former site of Fox Hollies Hall. They are: Coppice House (map), Hollypiece House (map) and Home Meadow House (map) Fox Hollies Park Fox Hollies Park is a 40 acre open space that was once the grounds of a mid-Victorian Italianate mansion known as Fox Hollies Hall. The mansion was demolished in 1937 when the surrounding area was redeveloped for council housing. The Westley Brook meanders through the park which features wetlands, meadows, landscaped pathways, tree clusters, playgrounds and a fish pond.
