The Selly Park Conservation Area is on the west side of the
A441 Pershore Road in south-west Birmingham. It contains avenues of mainly mid-Victorian mansions set in
extensive grounds and provides a setting for several listed
buildings.
These include St Stephens on Selly Hill, which was built in
the Decorated Gothic Style by Chamberlain and Martin in 1870,
and the RC Gothic Revival church of St Edwards on Raddlebarn
Road which was built
by HT Sandy in 1902. The designated area also includes Selly
Hall (1820): a red-brick Tudor-style mansion that became Saint
Paul's Convent in 1864. |
