Munrow Sports Centre |

The Munrow Sports Centre is on the main Edgbaston campus of the
University of Birmingham. It contains a gymnastics hall, dance studio,
martial arts room, 7 squash courts (three with glass backs), 3
multi-purpose sports halls, a fitness suite with cardiovascular,
resistance and free weights; a floodlit athletics track and a 25-metre
deck-level swimming pool.
Membership is open to staff, students and the general public. |

Old Gym |
|
|
|
The Old Gym (map) is a sports hall on the main Edgbaston campus of the
University of Birmingham. It is located on the west side of
Chancellors Court, barely 100 metres from University West Gate. |

New Sports Facilities |

|
|
The University of Birmingham is developing plans for a new sports centre
with an Olympic-sized swimming pool as part of its rolling 5-year
investment programme

Sports Pitches @ University Quarter |
|
|
|
There are three playing fields in the University Quarter: (1) Bounbrook
(2) Metchley Lane (3) Eastern Road. The Bournbrook pitches
(map) are next to the domed Aston Webb Building on the Edgbaston
campus of the University of Birmingham and include a floodlit rugby
pitch, formerly the home of Moseley RFC.
The Metchley Lane Playing Fields
(map) are on the north side of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. They
include most of the university rugby and football pitches and a floodlit
rugby training pitch.
The Eastern Road Pitches
(map) are on the south side of the Bristol Road, roughly 700 metrs
from University East Gate. |

Bournville
Hockey Club @ University Quarter |

|
Bournville Hockey Club plays its home fixtures at the University of
Birmingham
(map) and at Edward VI High School for Girls
(map). The club, which was established in 1902, fields 6 men's, 3
ladies', veteran. indoor and summer league teams and the Badgers: a
blend of youth and experience.
It also hosts a youth academy at Colmers Community Leisure Centre
(map) in Longbridge. |

|
|
|
Edgbaston Hockey Club plays home fixtures and holds training sessions on
water-based pitches at the University of Birmingham or on a sand-dressed
pitch at Edgbaston High School for Girls. The hockey club, which was
established in 1885, is the second oldest in the UK and fields 8 men's, 5 ladies, mixed, veteran and colts teams. |
