Overview
 
Perry Barr Stadium is a greyhound and speedway venue on the A453 Aldridge Road in north Birmingham, 5 kilometres from the city centre.

The stadium was built for the Birchfield Harriers Athletics Club in 1928 and became a greyhound track after they moved to the Alexander Stadium in 1976.

It has doubled as the home track of the Birmingham Brummies speedway team since 2007.

The track has a circumference of 434 metres and a home straight of around 80 metres.

A modern three-level grandstand overlooks the entire length of the home straight. The ground floor contains bar/refreshment areas and a souvenir shop; the first floor contains a restaurant and seating for 1500 spectators; the second floor contains a VIP lounge, hospitality boxes, restaurant, bar and function room.

The stadium also contains two demountable outside terraces without seats.

Dog races are held over 275, 460, 480, 500, 660, 710 and 895 metres.

The run to the first bend is 80 metres in a 4 bends race and 50 metres in a 6 bends race.

Three hours of greyhound races are generally held on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings

The glass-fronted Skyline Restaurant, which can seat 330, is set on tiered staging above the home straight.

It is generally closed for speedway meetings.

The stadium contains three executive suites with panoramic views of the track.

Each suite can hold between 10 and 60 guests and all three can be combined to create a 132-capacity venue suitable for private parties, meetings, seminars and conferences.

Races can also be watched from the spectator seating inside the grandstand or from outdoor trackside terraces.

Perry Barr Stadium contains this art-deco bas-relief of a leaping stag created by the sculptor William Bloye in 1929.

The leaping stag appears on the badge of the Birchfield Harriers who were based at the stadium from 1928-1976.
