Aston Manor Cricket Club |

Aston Manor Cricket Club, which was established in 1903, is based on
Church Lane in Perry Barr.
The club fields three senior teams. The 1st XI
competes in Division Two of the Birmingham League. There is also a
strong youth section that has been awarded Club Mark Status
by Sports England in recognition of its quality coaching of young
cricketers.
Three former junior players have represented England at youth level
and two have signed contracts with Warwickshire County Cricket Club.

Aston Old Edwardians Sports Club was formed by ex-pupils of King Edward
VI Aston School in 1883. The club is based on Sunnybank Avenue at Perry Common in
Kingstanding; it fields four senior rugby teams, two senior cricket
teams and a squash team. The junior section includes rugby and cricket
teams.
The
facilities include sports pitches, a clubhouse and two squash courts.
There are regular social events. |

Aston Villa FC is a professional football club based at Villa
Park in Aston. It was established in 1874 by four members of the Villa
Cross Wesleyan Chapel in neighbouring Lozells.
Aston Villa was a founder member of the English football league in
1888 and currently plays in the Premiership: the top tier of English
domestic competition.
The team, whose colours are claret and blue, has played at Villa Park
since 1897 having previously been based at Aston Park (1874 -1876) and
Perry Barr (1876-1897).
Aston Villa was originally a mutual association but the club is now
owned by a public limited company controlled by Randy Lerner, a U.S.
entrepreneur who also owns the Cleveland Browns American football team. |

Attock Cricket Club is located on Wake Green Road in Springfield. It was
established by newly-arrived Pakistani immigrants in the 1970's and is
named after the Attock District of the Punjab Province in Pakistan.
The club operates four senior Saturday teams and has a strong youth
section ranging from under 11's to under 17's. The
first XI plays in the first division of the Birmingham & District
Premier Cricket League; the club also competes in the Sunday
Warwickshire League. |

Bartley Sailing Club

Bartley Sailing Club is based at Bartley Reservoir in Bartley Green.
The club, which also welcomes canoeists and windsurfers, is an
RYA-approved water sports centre. It possesses a fleet of dinghies
including types RS200, RS400, RS600 and Solo, Supernova, Laser and
Mirror classes.
The facilities include a purpose-built club house with restaurant,
bar, showers, lockers and changing rooms. There is also an on-site car
park and secure boat park.
The club provides starter and basic skills training so that novices
may learn to rig and launch a boat and sail her in moderate winds.
The social calendar includes skittle evenings and family fun
afternoons. Sport England awarded £8,500 to Bartley Sailing Club for
the purchase of 4 laser pico dinghies in March 2011

Birchfield Harriers Athletics Club

|
Birchfield Harriers (also known as the Stags) is one of the foremost
athletics clubs in the UK. It was established in 1877 and was based at
Perry Barr Stadium until 1976 when it relocated to the Alexander Stadium
in Perry Park.
The club has a running stag as its emblem. An art deco stag motif,
carved by William Bloye, still adorns its original home at Perry Barr
Stadium which is now a speedway and dog track.
The Birchfield Harriers promote community participation through
family, associate and academy schemes. Members may participate in
training groups run by professional coaches and may use the club
facilities which include the clubroom, 3 physiotherapy rooms, the indoor
High Performance Centre, the external throwing area and the track and
field facilities at Alexander Stadium.
The Birchfield Harriers have consistently produced elite athletes;
its members have competed at every Olympic Games since 1908.

Witton. The club fields two senior
teams and an under 16 team. It was formed in 2003 following the merger of two former works
teams: Kynoch (established 1924) and Birchfield (established 1957).

Birmingham City F.C. is a professional football club based at Saint
Andrews stadium in Small Heath. The club was founded in 1875 as the
Small Heath Alliance but was renamed Small Heath in 1888, Birmingham FC
in 1905 and Birmingham City FC in 1943.
The club was a founder member of FA League Division Two in 1896 and
currently competes in the Championship: the second tier of English domestic
football.
The team, whose colours are royal blue, has played at Saint Andrews
since 1906 having previously been based in Sparkbrook and on Muntz
Street in Small Heath.
Birmingham City FC was originally an unincorporated members
association but the club is now owned by a private company controlled by
Hong-Kong businessman Carson Yeung. Birmingham City FC won the Carling
Cup in February 2011; it was the club's first major trophy since 1963

Birmingham Rowing Club is based at Edgbaston Reservoir in Ladywood.
The club, which was established in 1873, welcomes rowers of all ages
and abilities. The facilities include a boathouse and changing rooms
shared with the University of Birmingham Boat Club.
The club hosts the Birmingham Regatta which is held on Edgbaston
Reservoir in April; the regatta can only be held over the full distance
of 750 metres if the reservoir is full.
The club organises a range of social events including a bonfire night
party and an annual black tie dinner. |
