Beorma Quarter (Top)
 
The Beorma Quarter is a mixed-use development of new and refurbished buildings in the Digbeth area of central Birmingham.

Its centrepiece will be a 107-metre 30-storey skyscraper that will face the Selfridges building on the opposite side of Park Street.

This skyscraper will contain offices, retail and restaurant units; its facade will incorporate 800 fins creating a shimmering effect.

Broad Street Tower (Top)
 

Broad Street Tower is an approved 132-metre 41-floor hotel and residential tower that will contain 350 apartments and a 150-room hotel; it will be built at 212-223 Broad Street in the Westside area of central Birmingham.

New Street Twin Towers (Top)
 
The New Street Twin Towers are two 130-metre glazed towers that will be built as part of the planned Gateway Plus redevelopment of New Street Station.

The towers will stand on either side of a newly-created entrance off Station Street in the Southside area of central Birmingham.

One of these towers will be residential and the other commercial; a sixties tower block known as Stephenson Tower will be demolished to make room for the new development.

Work has been delayed by the recession.

Regal Tower (Top)
 
Regal Tower is a planned 200-metre 56-storey skyscraper that will be built at the junction of Broad Street and Sheepcote Street in the Westside area of central Birmingham.

Once complete, this building will contain a luxury hotel, 256 apartments and low-level retail units; it will be tallest building in Birmingham.

V Building (Top)
 

The V Building is a 152-metre residential tower with a V-shaped facade that is planned for a site off Suffolk Street Queensway in the Westside area of central Birmingham.

This building will form part of the new 7.6-acre Arena Central development and will contain 600 apartments and lower-level retail units.

Work has been delayed because of the recession; an application to extend planning permission for a further ten years was submitted in November 2009 (News Archive 9/11/09).

Opal One (Top)
 
Opal One (2007) is a 58-metre 18-floor student residential tower at the junction of Bristol Road and Belgrave Middleway in the Benmore area of Attwood Green in central Birmingham.

This building contains around 200 study bedrooms that are privately let to students.

Stephenson Tower (Top)
 
Stephenson Tower (1967) is a 63-metre 20-floor block of flats on Hill Street in the Southside area of central Birmingham.

It was vacated in May 2010 prior to demolition as part of the Gateway Plus redevelopment of New Street Station (News Archive 18/05/10).

It will be demolished brick-by-brick since explosives can not be used in the city centre; demolition began in July 2011 and is expected to take around 6 months (News Headlines 02/07/11).
