King Edward VI High School for Girls is an independent secondary school on Edgbaston Park Road.

King Edwards School
 
King Edwards is an independent boys school on Edgbaston Park Road.

It is attended by around 850 boys aged 11-18.

This school replaced A-levels with the two year International Baccalaureate Diploma in September 2010 (News Archive 26/02/10).

A new £7.5 million performing arts centre is being built at this school and should be completed by 2012. The centre, which will be shared with King Edward VI High School for Girls, will contain drama studios, teaching/rehearsal rooms and a 400-seat concert hall (News Archive 28/10/10).

Pupils were locked in their classrooms as police chased a suspected armed robber through the school grounds at around 3.30pm on Friday 8th July 2011 (News Headlines 09/07/11).
