King Edwards is an independent boys school on Edgbaston Park
Road. It is attended by around
850 boys aged 11-18. This school replaced A-levels with the
two year International Baccalaureate Diploma in September 2010
(News Archive 26/02/10). A new £7.5 million performing
arts centre is being built at this school and should be
completed by 2012. The centre, which will be shared with King
Edward VI High School for Girls, will contain drama studios,
teaching/rehearsal rooms and a 400-seat concert hall
(News Archive 28/10/10). Pupils were locked in their
classrooms as police chased a suspected armed robber through the
school grounds at around 3.30pm on Friday 8th July 2011
(News
