Cross City Line through Nechells

The Cross City Line runs through Nechells en route from Curzon Junction to Aston Junction South.

Heading north-east from Curzon Junction, the line runs on a grade-II-listed 28-arch viaduct bridging St James Place, Northumberland Street and Erskine Street.

Heading north from Duddeston Mill Road, the line climbs an embankment between Nechells Green and Saltley before bridging Saltley Road and passing the Bloomsbury Housing Estate.

From the Bloomsbury Estate, it runs in a cutting beneath Nechells Place and Nechells Park Road, passing the Wing Zip Superstore, Nechells Bathhouse and Long Acre Industrial Estate.

Heading north from Long Acre, it runs above Hockley Brook and the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal before reaching Aston Junction South and Aston Station.
