Handsworth Linking Line |
Overview |
The Handsworth Linking Line runs for 2.25 miles between Soho
Junction and Perry Barr Junction via Handsworth. The line enables
freight trains to avoid central Birmingham or to be diverted
from the east to the west entrance of New Street Station and
vice versa.
It also provides an alternative passenger route between
Birmingham New Street and Walsall that avoids Curzon Street
Junction, Aston Junction, Aston Station, Duddeston Station,
Witton Station and Perry Barr Station. |
