Hyatt Regency Hotel
 
The Hyatt Regency is a 24-storey hotel with a distinctive blue-mirror-glazed facade on Bridge Street in Westside.

It is connected to the International Convention Centre by a private covered bridge above Broad Street.

The Hyatt Regency contains 319 bedrooms and suites, many with panoramic views, ranging from one-bed guestrooms to the Presidential Suite. All rooms are equipped with internet access and plasma TV.

The facilities include a fitness club, an Amala Spa, and a heated swimming pool.

The Aria Restaurant, set beneath a glazed atrium, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fine wines and champagnes are served in the Bar Pravda cocktail lounge which generally remains open until 2am.

There are eight meeting rooms; the largest, the Symphony Ballroom, provides 225 square metres of function space. Secure parking is available at a daily tariff.

The construction of the Hyatt Regency was subsidised by Birmingham City Council in order to host events such as the G8 Summit.

Firefighters attended a blaze at the Amala Spa at 10.30am on Thursday 26 May 2011. Guests were evacuated to the International Convention Centre until the hotel could be safely re-entered three hours later (News Headlines 28/05/11).

Jury's Inn
 
Jury's Inn is on Broad Street in Westside.

It is a 61-metre concrete-clad tower with 18 floors that was built as an office block in 1974-75 and converted into a hotel in 1999.

Jury's Inn is the largest hotel in Birmingham; it contains 445 standard rooms, the Inntro Bar, the Innfusion Restaurant, the Il Barista coffee lounge, 20 dedicated meeting rooms and 25 syndicate rooms; there is also a chargeable car park.

The central reservations office for the entire Jury's Inn chain is headquartered at this hotel; it employs around 60 office staff.

A woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger in her room at this hotel during the early hours of Saturday 06/02/10 (News Headlines 14/04/11).
