Aston Science Park
Aston Science Park (website) is a 15-acre business park adjoining Aston University and the Digbeth Branch Canal in Eastside, Birmingham.

It was created in 1982 in order to attract hi-tech companies to Birmingham.

It offers space on flexible terms to start-up ventures and established companies, mainly in the cleantech, meditech, healthtech, digital and IT sectors.

More than 70 businesses are currently based there, employing an estimated total workforce of over 1,000.

Faraday Wharf @ Aston Science Park
Faraday Wharf (map) is the hub building of Aston Science Park.

It contains a podium level, 3 upper floors, reception, networking and interaction areas and 45,000 square feet of incubation units ranging in size from 100-3,000 square feet.

It also contains Cafe Resource and the Entrepreneurs for Future Centre.

Venture Way, Holt Court, Ashted Lock @ Aston Science Park
Venture Way (map), Holt Court (map) and Ashted Lock (map) contain around 260,000 square feet of campus-style accommodation in multiple units of 1000-5000 square feet.

These buildings are designed for "graduates" from the incubation unit at Faraday Wharf and for established companies who wish to pursue new product development in a creative and supportive environment.

iBIC @ Aston Science Park
iBIC (map) is a separate building within the Holt Court development.

It is designed for IT and Communication start-ups and contains 23,000 square feet of incubator space including a reception room and 5 meeting rooms.

3 Priestley Wharf @ Aston Science Park
3 Priestley Wharf (map) is a self-contained 3-storey building with 37,000 square feet of office space.
New Build @ Aston Science Park
A new engineering academy for students aged 14-19, which will be sponsored by Aston University, is under construction at Aston Science Park.
Parking @ Aston Science Park
There is a 200-space basement car park (map) at Faraday Wharf off Love Lane.
Car Travel: Aston Science Park
Travel to Birmingham from any direction and take the A4540 Ring Road.

Continue on the ring road until you reach Dartmouth Circus and then take the A38 towards the city centre and then the second left into Holt Street and then the second left into Love Lane and the basement car park at Faraday Wharf.

Closure of Advantage West Midlands
The regional development agency, Advantage West Midlands, was based at Aston Science Park. However, its closure was announced in July 2010; 326 staff were made redundant (News Archive 24/07/10).
