A 16 year-old boy was abducted by two men from a number 49 bus at a stop on the Pershore Road South in Kings Norton on Thursday 07/10/10; they made him withdraw £250 from a cashpoint and then forced him to accompany them on a taxi ride across Birmingham.

Schoolgirl Abducted in Washwood Heath
 
A 28-year-old man from Tedbury Crescent in Erdington, who participated in the kidnapping of a debtor and his unlawful detention until payment of a ransom of £15,000, was sentenced to an indeterminate term of imprisonment at Birmingham Crown Court in December 2009.
