St Joseph's RC is on Thimble Mill Lane, Nechells. It was built as a cemetery chapel in the Gothic Style by Augustus Pugin in 1850 and enlarged by his son, Edward W Pugin, in the Early English Style in 1872. St Joseph's, its cemetery wall and lychgate are grade-II-listed. |

St Mathews CE is on Duddeston Manor Road, Nechells. Designed by William Thomas in the Early English Style, it was built in brick with a nave, aisles, shallow chancel and castellated west tower in 1839-40. The interior contains the original pulpit and box pews, a three-sided gallery on iron columns and late-Victorian stained glass. St Mathews is a grade-II-listed building. |
