Birmingham. Designed by PJ Hunt in 1937, it is an Italianate
brown-brick building with a semi-circular west end, round-headed
windows and a north-west tower. |

St John's, Perry Barr |
|
|
|
St John's is on Church Road in the Perry Barr area of north
Birmingham. Designed by Robert Studholme in the Gothic Style
in 1833, it was substantially rebuilt by JA Chatwin in the
Decorated Style in the 1880's and features a nave, chancel,
sanctuary, aisles, transepts, vestries and west tower.
The interior contains stained glass by Hardman and Pearce and
Cutler; the churchyard contains the grave of Tommy Ball: a
24-year-old Aston Villa footballer who was murdered in 1924. |
