The Birmingham and
Fazeley Canal runs through Newtown en route from the
Old Turn in
Westside to
Aston
Junction in Eastside.
Heading north-west from Barker Bridge on Lower Loveday Street,
it runs through a belt of industrial estates, passing beneath
Newtown Row
and the Aston Expressway before reaching Aston Junction.
There is a Victorian public convenience built into the parapet
of the canal bridge on Newtown Row; it is a
grade-two-listed building. |
