River Rea
The River Rea drains northwards through Highgate in a canalised channel from Belgrave Middleway to Moseley Street.

From Belgrave Middleway, it runs between the St Lukes and Highgate Housing Estates, beneath Gooch Street and Vaughton Street South, and past Chandos Primary School.

From Chandos School, it drains through the Rea, Bissell and Charles Henry Street trading estates and then beneath Moseley Street into Digbeth.

Gooch Street Bridge
The bridge carrying Gooch Street above the River Rea features an ornate rolled-steel memorial arch dedicated to an Anglo-Saxon tribe ("the people of Beorma") who founded the first-known settlement in Birmingham in around 600AD.
